Well, a tonne and a half of firewood is all stacked and the fire is set ready for the onset of winter. Fortunately it was 29C again today, and we both spent most of the day on a sun lounger dipping in and out of the pool. Forecast is for at least another couple of weeks of the same!
We had a very pleasant evening on Friday with Ann and Alun Price and Elaine and Brian Norbury. Ann cooked a rather fine curry and we sampled a superb bottle of vintage port that Roger was kind enough to leave with us last year. Unfortunately Alun and Ann are heading back to the UK to watch the Autumn rugby internationals soon, so there will be a shortage of high quality banter in the back row of the baritones for a while.
An ancient Welsh relic called Price decided it would be quite nice
To return home to Wales, tell some tall tales
And give the Welsh team some advice.
They’ve been screwed by the Welsh RFU, and been left in a terrible stew,
Some have taken the chance to run off to France,
But the rest— No idea what to do!
All that I’d say at the end of the day, is for God’s sake don’t listen to Alun
Though he’s got no idea when he’s laid off the beer,
He’s far worse when he’s swallowed a gallon!
Art classes are going well, and Ann is enjoying her Pilates in Valenciano! Our Spanish teacher is excellent, well organised and enthusiastic. We both leave lessons absolutely knackered!
After three weeks back down here our plans for the future are changing again, and we think we are more likely to buy here than in France if we can make the sums add up. It just makes such a difference being warm, and the cost of living is so much cheaper.
Loved the pictures of Chloe’s sleepover on Facebook. Hope her ankle gets better soon.
All the best,
Andy
